Hari merdeka nusa dan bangsa , hari lahirnya bangsa Indonesia , Merdeka . sekali merdeka tetap merdeka selama hayat masih di kandung badan.
Cuplikan lagu Hari Merdeka itu selalu memberi semangat untuk peringatan “agustusan” . Bukan hanya melanggengkan “tradisi” tetapi kegiatan peringatan yang diisi denganberbagai lomba yang heroik dan lucu selalu memunculkan kontroversi , terutama terhadap pemanfaatkan waktu dan produktivitas. Betapa tidak . Berbagai sekolah sudah mendaftarkan hari di sekitar 17 Agustus sebagai hari tidak efektif. Banyak yang harus dilakukan dengan dalih “17” an .Tentu bukan untuk menghindari tugas rutin. Kembali kepada niat dan nurani masing masing. Bagi anak yang lahir setelah tahun enampuluhan , yang tidak pernah kecipratan darah pejuang, tentu tidak bisa merasakan getar arti kemerdekaan itu. Cerita sejarah sudah tidak bisa menggetarkan semangat anak anak kita yang lahir di Orde baru baru ini. Cerita itu begitu berlalu tanpa bekas di benak mereka. Sekolah adalah tempat menggodok mental dan karakter generasi muda. Jika mereka tumbuh tanpa karakter maka habislah riwayat bangsa Indonesia. Hambar. Apakah Anda yakin teknologi mutakhir mampu menggerakkan nurani untuk menjadi anak pemberani . Tokoh pahlawan tidak lagi menjadi idola remaja masa kini. Buku riwayat para pejuang hanya menjadi penghuni rak perpustakaan sekolah yang paling pojok dan berdebu ,pertanda tak pernah disentuh oleh pengunjung. Bagi para guru , senior , dan orangtua ajaklah anak anak kita memperingati “17” an dengan penuh citarasa perjuangan. Tunjukkan bahwa “merdeka” adalah sesuatu pencapaian yang mahal dan terhormat. Bukan suatu yang diperoleh dengan mudah. Semangat itu di implementasikan dalam lomba lomba peringatan “17”an baik di kampong, kantor, apalagi di sekolah. Itu bukan ceremonial tahunan tanpa arti. Tetapi suatu upaya membangun semangat dan karakter.Suatu nilai yang mulai terabaikan ditengah tengah upaya mencerdaskan kehidupan bangsa Jika yang tua semangat pasti yang muda lebih semangat lagi. Ayo rek ikut meramaikan 17 an . DIMANAPUN ANDA BERADA SEKALI MERDEKA TETAP MERDEKA. MERDEKAKAN DIRIMU DARI KEBODOHAN , KEMALASAN DAN KEMISKINAN. JANGAN TAKUT KALAH . KEKALAHAN BUKAN KEGAGALAN. TAKUTLAH PADA KEMEROSOTAN SEMANGAT , KARENA KESALAHAN MENANAMKAN NILAI AKAN BERAKIBAT FATAL BAGI BANGSA INI DI KEMUDIAN HARI. MERDEKA !!!
